03/10/2022

The CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2022 is now just four weeks away. The conference is hosted by Airports Authority of India, and will be held at the Vivanta Goa, Panaji Hotel, in Goa, India, from 1 to 3 November.

Building on the Complete Air Traffic System Global Council’s vision for the skies of 2045, the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2022 will unite around 200 senior air traffic management delegates from the region and beyond for three days of networking, debate, analysis and insight.

Poh Theen Soh, Director Asia Pacific Affairs, CANSO, said: “Our theme this year is Think Global, Collaborate Regional, Accomplish Local.  Realising the global vision requires conviction at the local level and working regionally.

“I am hopeful that our conference will be the start of that an exciting process in which ANSPs and other CANSO Members in the region can come together and tackle crucial subjects as regional collaboration, sustainability, and embracing and exploiting technology. If we do that, then we can really say we are starting the process of delivering the future skies of the Asia Pacific.”

The bulk of the conference is made up of three panel sessions, looking at regional collaboration for future air navigation services, sustainable air traffic management, and the technology dilemma. High profile speakers from across the region will take part in the discussions, including ANSP CEOs and Directors General. These include Polana Banguningsih Pramesti, President Director, AirNav Indonesia, Kudo Takashi, Director General, Japan Air Navigation Service (JANS), Ted Pakii, CEO, NiuSky Pacific and Sharon Cooke, Chief Executive Airways International Ltd, Airways New Zealand.

Blair Cowles, Regional Director, IATA, Tim Arel, Acting Chief Operating Officer, FAA, and Dr. Pham Viet Dung, Chair, VATM, will also share their thoughts.

Frequentis AG will host and present a workshop on the third day of the conference, looking at next-generation of ATM technology with the theme: Digitalise Local, Deliver Regional, Develop Global.

The workshop will look at how ATM technology can enable regional collaboration through local modernisation and contribute to the sharing of expertise and fostering of innovation among ATM stakeholders.

Poh Theen added: “We’re grateful to all our sponsors – L3 Harris, Laminaar, Aireon, Boeing Global Strategic Initiatives, and Cirium -for their support of the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2022, and to Frequentis for what I am sure will be a great final day discussion.”
