Unifly Concludes Contribution to FAA ASSURE A68 Project on Detect-and-Avoid Well-Clear Requirements

22/01/2026

Unifly has successfully completed its contribution to the FAA-sponsored ASSURE A68 research project, which validates detect-and-avoid (DAA) well-clear requirements for small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). Conducted under the FAA’s ASSURE Center of Excellence, the project assessed how current separation standards perform in today’s operational and technological environment.

As part of UTM Services Field Testing, Unifly provided UTM services supporting simulations and flight tests, integrating surveillance data from sources such as ADS-B, radar, cellular telemetry, and Remote Identification. The results support the role of UTM-enabled separation services in informing future standards, including BVLOS operations.
