IDI acquires majority stake in Intersoft Electronics Group to support continued global growth

Intersoft Electronics Group, a leading Belgian provider of advanced radar systems and services, is pleased to announce that IDI, a prominent French private equity firm, has acquired a majority stake in the company. The transaction was completed in close partnership with the existing management team as part of a secondary leveraged buyout.

Founded in 1983, Intersoft Electronics Group — comprising Intersoft Electronics, Intersoft Services, and Advionics — has established itself as a global reference in radar technology. The group designs, manufactures, and deploys cutting-edge radar systems and components for both civil and defense applications, serving a prestigious international client base including Eurocontrol, Raytheon, Thales, and Hensoldt.

With nearly 400 employees and over €60 million in annual revenue, the group has experienced strong growth in recent years, supported by Waterland Private Equity. This partnership enabled the successful launch of breakthrough technologies such as the NGSP (Next-Generation Signal Processor) and NORA (Non-Rotating Antenna), and significantly expanded the company’s global footprint.
