CANSO Latin America and Caribbean Conference 2025

Redefining Regional Skies: Innovation, Integration, and Leadership for the Future of Airspace in Latin America and the Caribbean

Your invitation

An introduction to our conference

Kindly hosted by Autoridad Aeronáutica Civil de Panamá, the CANSO Latin America and Caribbean Conference 2025 serves as the regional platform for shaping the future of airspace management in a rapidly changing regional and global landscape. Held in Panama City, in the heart of the Americas, this flagship event brings together air navigation service providers (ANSP) CEOs, aviation leaders, airspace users, policymakers, industry innovators, and space operations specialists to forge the next chapter of airspace management.

Beginning with a CEO Workshop on Strategic Vision and Future-Ready Leadership, senior executives will examine new business models, investment priorities, and pathways to innovation that redefine the roles of ANSPs within a dynamic aviation ecosystem.

A keynote address on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) will then set the tone for the future, followed by an engaging session aligning the Complete Air Traffic System (CATS) Global Council’s Concept of Operations with regional implementation efforts. Leaders will discuss governance structures, financial frameworks, operational strategies, and institutional transformations vital to regional resilience and innovation. The day offers actionable insights into capacity planning, forecasting, and sustainable service models.

On the third day, as space activities expand across Latin America and the Caribbean, attention will turn to Space Launch Operations. This practical workshop explores the operational realities of orbital launches, cross-border cooperation, and multi-sector decision-making.

With interactive workshops, innovative sessions, and strategic networking opportunities, this three-day event aims to catalyse action, foster innovation, and enhance regional collaboration.

Taxis and Public Transport

Panama City has a reliable and affordable public transportation system that includes a metro, bus network, taxis, and ride-hailing apps. Apps like Moovit are excellent ways of planning your use of public transport.

Metro (Subway)
The Panama Metro is modern, safe, and air-conditioned.

Line 1 runs from Albrook (near the conference venue) to San Isidro.

Line 2 connects San Miguelito to Nuevo Tocumen.

The metro operates a frequent service with trains every 5–10 minutes during peak hours. The service runs from early morning to 23:00 Monday to Friday, and to 22:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

Buses
Panama City has an extensive bus network throughout the city connecting neighbourhoods alongside metro stations.

Paying for bus and metro

The Panama City Metro Card (Tarjeta Metrobus) is needed for Metro and Metro Bus access.

Cards can be purchased at Metro stations and major bus terminals like Albrook.

The initial card cost is around USD 2.00, plus reloadable balance.

Taxis
Taxis are widely available, but are not metered. Fares usually range between USD $3–$10 within the city, but always agree your fare before starting your trip.

Shared taxi rides with strangers (collectivos) are common.

Ride-Share Services
Uber, DiDi, and InDriver operate reliably and are often cheaper and safer than traditional taxis. They are ideal for English-speaking visitors.
