29/03/2023
  • The actions will be carried out at the Air Control Centres in Madrid, Barcelona and its Centre for Experimentation and Development
  • These systems are used to manage air traffic, for simulations and operational training environments for controllers and pseudo-pilots, as well as for new communications architectures
  • In addition, the Board of Directors has awarded Telefónica a €7.1-million contract to provide technical support to ENAIRE’s digital network, whose infrastructure carries the voice and air navigation data in Spain

ENAIRE’s Board of Directors has approved an open procedure tender (as per Royal Decree-Law 3/2020) to transfer and supply the automated air traffic control systems (SACTA) and integrated digital voice systems (COMETA) to the new technical building of the Madrid Air Control Centre, at an estimated cost of €9,512,814,00 (excluding taxes), with a 24-month delivery period out to 2025. This action is part of the agency’s strategic Technological Modernisation Plan.
