Session overview
Bringing the voice of the next generation of aviation professionals into the conversation, and building a structured platform for shared regional approaches to talent attraction, career development and industry leadership
In this session, we will bring together young air traffic controllers from five different countries around Africa to share their personal journeys into the profession, where they are today, and their vision for the future. We will look at how similar — or diverse — talent attraction and recruitment practices are across the region and hear takeaways from these next-generation industry leaders on how they see the future of African ATM and what today’s leaders need to do to pave the way for the leaders of tomorrow.
We will also spotlight initiatives and projects already making an impact on the ground. The conversation will trace the panellists’ journeys so far alongside their vision for the future across safety, technology and leadership, and will look at what CANSO is doing to make the ATM industry more visible and give the next generation a stronger voice.
Key objective: Multigenerational learning and sharing.
The participants will be encouraged to establish a structure that will exist beyond the conference where young professionals can create space to share experiences, learn from each other and provide ongoing input on the regional developments. This will include working with CANSO and other organisations such as ICAO’s NGAP (New Generation of Aviation Professionals).
