05/01/2023

Registration for the CANSO Executive Summit 2023 at Airspace World in Geneva is now open.

CANSO’s flagship annual leadership event will be held at the Palexpo Centre in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday 7 March at 14:00-17:30. It kicks off CANSO’s brand new global Air Traffic Management event, Airspace World, the global destination for organisations and people delivering the skies of tomorrow.

The CANSO Executive Summit brings together top leaders, influencers and experts from the aviation industry for an afternoon of debate, discussion and insight.

In a note to CANSO Members, Director General Simon Hocquard said: “This year’s Summit will help ATM leaders from around the world move the agenda forward on some of our industry’s most pressing issues. As the aviation world changes, the Summit will present a global picture of what’s going on in our industry and answer why we should change, and how we can integrate all airspace users quickly.”

The complete roster of speakers is currently being finalised and will be announced shorlty, but one highlight will be keynote speaker, Shaesta Waiz.

Born in an Afghan refugee camp and raised in the USA, Shaesta is the first female certified pilot from Afghanistan and, in 2017, became the youngest woman to fly solo around the world in a single-engine aircraft.

She set up her US-based charity, Dreams Soar, to encourage others, particularly women, to follow their dreams and to promote the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and research.

Shaesta will talk about what motivated her to become an aviator, and tell the story of her inspirational journey around the world. She will also set out what skills might be needed from our future workforce, and how we can work together to encourage the next generation of talent to become aviators.

The Summit will also include a panel discussion to look at the pathways to fully integrated skies.

Simon added: “Registration is free for up to 10 leaders from any CANSO Member organisation, and includes full access to the three days of Airspace World 2023, on 8 to 10 March.”

Additional places, and places for CANSO Non-Members cost 995 Euros per person.
