EuroAsia air navigation leaders meet in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Thursday 10 September 2026 – Air traffic management (ATM) leaders from across the EuroAsia region gathered this week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan for the fourth CANSO EuroAsia Air Navigation Service Providers’ (ANSP) CEO Summit 2026, hosted by Uzaeronavigation.
The Summit brings together CEOs and senior industry leaders from across one of the world’s most dynamic and strategically important regions to discuss the challenges and opportunities that will define the next chapter for air traffic management across Europe and Asia.
Discussions focused on what the eventual reopening of Ukrainian airspace could mean for traffic flows across the wider region, and on the coordination that will be required to ensure that the return of traffic is safe, efficient and well managed. Delegates also explored the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in air
traffic management and experienced a live demonstration of COMPASS – CANSO’s Operational Messaging Platform for ATFM Sharing and Synchronisation – which supports real-time information sharing and cross-border coordination.
The Summit started on the morning of Wednesday, 9 September, with an opening address from Uzaeronavigation, welcoming delegates to Tashkent on behalf of the host ANSP:Doniyor Djumaev, CEO, Uzaeronavigation said: “Uzaeronavigation is proud to welcome CANSO and our colleagues from across the region to Tashkent for this important Summit. As traffic patterns across EuroAsia continue to evolve and increase, close cooperation between ANSPs, technology partners and international organisations will be essential to keep our skies safe, efficient and ready for the future.”

In her opening remarks, Andrea Sack, CANSO’s Senior Vice President, Global Operations, highlighted the need to look beyond immediate operational pressures
and focus on building a stronger regional network: “States across the EuroAsia region are experiencing some of the fastest growth in aviation anywhere in the
world. This is not a temporary spike it’s a structural shift in the aviation network. And with that shift comes enormous opportunity, but also enormous responsibility. That’s why meetings like this are vital. They allow us to put our collective minds to the challenges we face today.”
With the operational, technological and geopolitical environment changing rapidly, along with the increasing demand, the Summit provides an opportunity for ANSPs to look ahead together, share perspectives and help shape a more connected, resilient and efficient future for the region’s skies.
