Jotron supplies full VHF coverage for Angola’s Luanda FIR
Over the course of just 14 months, Jotron effectively led the design, production, installation, and commissioning of a fully integrated, nationwide network of VHF radio communication system in Angola. These advancements were designed to significantly enhance safety and efficiency in Angolan airspace, and to ensure seamless and secure communication between air traffic controllers and pilots.
This turnkey project involved the establishment of seven new enroute radio sites and the upgrade of six existing ones. Each site was fully equipped with Jotron’s state-of-the-art VHF radio systems, communication shelters, antenna masts, solar power systems, backup generators, perimeter fencing, and security infrastructure. To ensure a smooth and efficient transition, the new VHF communication system was seamlessly integrated into the existing infrastructure at the Luanda Area Control Centre (ACC), maintaining full compatibility with ENNA’s current systems.
