Strengthening aviation safety, reliability, and real-time coordination

Latvijas Gaisa Satiksme (LGS) is a strategic, state-owned air navigation service provider responsible for ensuring safe and efficient air traffic operations in accordance with international standards. The contract includes the replacement of the existing emergency radio and voice communication system (VCS). Under the agreement, Jotron has supplied a complete VoIP-based solution comprising fifteen TR-910 Last Resort (LR) radios with remote-control capability, controlled by Joron’s emergency VCS.

The TR-910LR VHF radio, featuring integrated battery backup, provides reliable communications in critical aviation environments and is the preferred last-resort ATC communication radio for Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) worldwide.

Jotron has supplied emergency radios to Riga Airport since 2011. The new radio systems were successfullycommissioned and accepted on 17 September following Site Acceptance Test (SAT). The emergency air-to-ground communication systems are planned for deployment at Riga Area Control Centre (ACC) and its new control tower, as well as at Liepāja International Airport, following completion of the required certification and operational implementation activities.
