Enav sets new all-time record: 8,446 flights managed in a single day
ENAV, the Italian Air Navigation Service Provider, yesterday recorded a new all-time high for air traffic movements handled in a single day, confirming the continued growth in flights across the Italy’s skies.
With 8,446 flights assisted on Sunday, 26 July 2026, ENAV reached the highest daily traffic volume ever recorded in the history of Italian civil aviation, surpassing the previous record of 8,340 flights, set on 27 July 2025.
This achievement marks the peak of a summer season that has so far been characterized by exceptionally high traffic volumes. In the preceding weeks, the 2025 record had already been surpassed on three separate occasions: 8,350 flights on 12 July, 8,392 on 17 July, 8,430 on 18 July, culminating in the new record of 8,446 flights on 26 July, which, according to current forecasts, is expected to represent the highest daily traffic volume of the year. Forecasts also indicate, however, that this new record could be exceeded again on several days during the month of August. These figures highlight the steady growth of air traffic in Italy and confirm ENAV’s ability to manage increasingly high traffic volumes while ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency and operational regularity throughout every phase of flight operations.
