CANSO Executive Summit programme taking shape.

18/01/2024

The packed agenda of the CANSO Executive Summit 2024 has been announced, and brings together a wide range of ATM experts from around the world to discuss transformation and how it affects the ATM industry.

Taking place on Monday 18 March, at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland, the CANSO Executive Summit is the chance for leaders from CANSO Member organisations to debate and discuss the issues facing their industry. The event marks the start of Airspace World 2024, from 19-21 March, the world’s largest air traffic management event.

The Summit begins with a keynote speech titled ‘The Great Remobilisation’ from world-leading artificial intelligence (AI) expert, Dr Mark Esposito. Dr. Esposito, who is sometimes known as The Global Agitator, is a thought leader on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a Harvard professor and advisor to national governments.

Following his speech, Dr. Esposito will be joined by a panel of experts from NASA, Cirium, Thales, NAV CANADA and the European AI Forum to discuss how AI-driven solutions have the potential to reshape airspace management, optimise traffic flows, bolster safety measures, and mitigate environmental impact.

With sustainability now more important than ever, CANSO’s Director of Programmes, Michelle Bishop, will then moderate a panel looking at how cutting-edge technologies and strategies can help the aviation industry be more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly. Panellists from the European Commission, Airports Council International, CAAS, Air Nav Ireland and Indra will discuss the innovative solutions and the collaborative approach required to achieve greener skies.

The Summit concludes with senior leaders from CANSO Members the FAA ATO, LVNL, ATNS, and CAA Malaysia discussing the main takeaways from the afternoon’s talks and panels.

Simon Hocquard, Director General, CANSO, said: “The CANSO Executive Summit 2024 is the starting gun for three packed days at Airspace World. It’s aimed predominantly at the senior leaders of our Member organisations and gives them the chance to really get under the skin of some of the key issues we face in ATM.

“And as well as kicking off Airspace World, it’s also the first of an exciting calendar of face-to-face events we have planned for 2024, including our Global ATM Summit and AGM in Baku, in June, and our regional conferences in Asia Pacific, Africa and Latin America and Caribbean.  We are also, following the success of its return in Dublin last year, looking at holding another Global Safety Conference later in the year.”

Senior leaders from CANSO Member organisations can register for the Executive Summit and Airspace World here.
