Slovenia Control operationally using FF-ICE in line with a major CP1 objective
Slovenia Control has performed a major step forward in ATS systems development and is using FF-ICE operationally since June 2026.

In 2022, Slovenia Control started the development of FF-ICE functionalities with the development and implementation of the NMB2B software library. The NMB2B library enables access to services provided by Eurocontrol’s Network Manager B2B Service. It is designed to be easily integrated and reused in applications that use NMB2B services, accelerating the adoption of Network Manager B2B services.
The first application to use the NMB2B library is Slovenia Control’s ATS system, FDPS. Slovenia Control maintains and develops the FDPS in-house, enabling the required changes to be implemented directly in the system and deployed into operations in accordance with CP1 requirements.
Using the in-house developed NMB2B library, the FDPS connects to the Network Manager B2B Service and exchanges flight plan data via SWIM. Flight plans are received in FIXM format and processed by the FDPS directly in FIXM format without any conversion to ICAO or ADEXP formats beforehand.
Compliance with FF-ICE CP1 objectives also improves ATCO situational awareness and supports tactical traffic handling. This includes more accurate decision making along trajectory prediction based on available climb and descent profiles with a clear visualization of detailed operation trajectory data and it’s vertical profile received in FIXM flight plans. FDO operators use easier and intuitive FF-ICE RQP function based on callsign input only. Further enhancements to flight data processing are planned based on the extensive information available in FIXM flight plans.
