Insero Air Traffic Solutions provides critical systems for new air traffic control solutionin Nuuk, Greenland
The Danish company has delivered the core systems for Naviair’s new air traffic control solution in Nuuk, which became operational on 14 May 2026 following final approval from the Danish Transport Authority. The systems support Naviair’s establishment of a new Terminal Maneuvering Area (TMA) around Nuuk and will contribute to more efficient and safer handling of the increasing air traffic in the area.
Establishment of the new TMA comes, among other factors, in response to restrictions introduced by the Danish Transport Authority in September 2025, which limited the number of landings and take-offs at Nuuk Airport; limitations, which have impacted both passenger traffic and business
activity and thus required rapid action.
Insero Air Traffic Solutions has previously delivered similar systems to Naviair’s Flight Information Center (FIC) in Greenland and was awarded the project in January 2026. In close collaboration with Naviair, which now also delivers air traffic control services in Greenland, the project has been
completed within a short timeframe, and the new and now operational TMA solution enables a lifting of capacity restrictions at Nuuk Airport, allowing for increased traffic and more passengers.
