Singapore strengthens support for global aviation training and development initiatives
Singapore will step up support for global aviation training and development through the signing of two training agreements with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and North Macedonia on 2 February 2026, respectively. These partnerships underscore Singapore’s commitment to advancing human capital development in civil aviation through training, knowledge-sharing and institutional cooperation. To date, the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA), the training arm of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), has trained close to 170,000 aviation professionals across over 200 countries and territories.
Singapore and ICAO signed the Singapore-ICAO Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in Leadership and Management Training – Annex 6 on the Directors-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Programme on Air Navigation Services (ANS). The agreement was signed by Singapore Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance, Mr Jeffrey Siow, and the President of the ICAO Council, Mr Toshiyuki Onuma at the 3rd Changi Aviation Summit.
