Indra drives the modernisation of the German and European skies with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art system at the Munich control center
- The iCAS system now manages one of Europe’s busiest and most complex airspaces, readying it to cope with the expected rise in traffic with greater safety, efficiency and respect for the environment and improve its interoperability with other countries.
- It is the first fully system based entirely on 4D trajectory management system to be put into operation in such a complex lower airspace and, as a result of its high degree of accuracy and flexibility, it will allow more direct flights, early conflict detection and resolution, shorter delays and fewer emissions.
- The Munich deployment is part of the plan to move towards the Single European Sky of the iTEC alliance, made up of the air navigation service providers of Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Lithuania, with Indra as a technology partner.
