Regional Focus: Accident and incident investigation for the Latin America and Caribbean Region

CANSO and the FAA developed a series of four webinars aimed at improving accident and incident investigation in Latin America and Caribbean.
Over the course of the sessions we looked at:
- ICAO accident and incident reporting
- The FAA Air Traffic Organisation accident and incident reporting process
- Human factors in air traffic events
- A mock safety investigation, and the timeline and process of aircraft accident investigation
Our series started on 14 July with a discussion on ICAO Annex 19, and the FAA Air Traffic Organization Policy on Accident and Incident Reporting Process.
Then, on 21 July, we looked at human factors in air traffic events. Attendees then met breakout groups on 28 July to look at the event investigation process, while our final session on 4 August brought all of those activities together to discuss accident investigation and transition from compliance to risk.
The sessions were aimed at Latin America and Caribbean ANSPs only.
