Riaaz Mohammed, Manager of Air Navigation Services Planning and Development at the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority. Holds an MBA in leadership and innovation from Anglia Ruskin University (UK), with over 27 years’ experience in Air Navigation Services.
Mr. Mohammed began his career as an Air Traffic Controller. Subsequently, he progressed into various Air Traffic Management (ATM) areas, including Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM), Air Traffic Controller (ATCO) training and development, and Airspace and Instrument Flight Procedure Design.
Mr. Mohammed is responsible for evaluating current ANS systems, researching emerging technology, and planning and coordinating the implementation of initiatives in accordance with organisational objectives and regional Air Navigation Plans (ANPs).
He is the co-rapporteur of the ICAO NACC/WG Airspace Management and Capacity Balancing (AMCB) task force. The goal of the task force is to promote the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving airspace organisation and management in the CAR region and to collaboratively transition the CAR/SAM region into Free Route Airspace.
