Meet our speaker
Rachelle Léger
Director, Safety Strategy, Management & Integration
NAV CANADA
Rachelle Léger’s experience with fatigue at NAV CANADA began more than 20 years ago, when she was a controller. Back then, she worked backward rotating shifts (to optimize time off) and blocks of shifts (to optimize time with children) which certainly did not result in fatigue management. Since then, she joined the safety investigations team where the impact of fatigue was learned and studied, and now her and her team are managing NAV CANADA’s Fatigue Risk Management System. There have been many lessons learned on her journey, personally, professionally and academically. Rachelle holds a Bachelor of Science (major in Biology), has taken multiple cognitive science and HF/HP courses, and has an MBA in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
