Claus Baunkjær appointed new CEO of Naviair

Claus Baunkjær will take over as CEO of Naviair on 1 August 2022, replacing Carsten Fich. Claus Baunkjær is currently CEO of A/S Øresund and has previously been CEO of Femern A/S (Sund & Bælt).

It will be 57-year-old Claus Baunkjær who takes on the position as new CEO of Naviair on 1 August 2022. As CEO, Claus Baunkjær’s responsibilities will include further developing Naviairs strategy and operation of the company in the light of the situation in the aviation industry.

Anne Birgitte Lundholt, Chairman of the Board of Naviair, describes the appointment of Claus as a good match, with both his strong skills and relevant experience being decisive factors in the final choice: “As CEO of Femern A/S and most recently A/S Øresund, Claus has been in charge of some of the largest infrastructure projects in Denmark in recent times. At the same time, he has knowledge of aviation and transport policy field from his time as Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Danish Ministry of Transport. I am sure that Claus’ experience will benefit Naviair in the coming years, and I look forward to working with him,” she said

Claus Baunkjær is looking forward to taking up the post of CEO at Naviair and playing his part in the company’s development, and added: “I am delighted with the appointment and am looking forward to starting work on my many exciting duties. I have followed Naviair since my time with the Ministry of Transport and look forward to meeting my new colleagues and contributing to the future development of the company.”
