CANSO welcomes new ICAO Secretary General

CANSO – the global and regional voice of air traffic management – has congratulated Mr Juan Carlos Salazar of Colombia on his appointment as the new Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

He succeeds Dr. Fang Liu of China, who has held the position for two consecutive terms since 2015. 

CANSO Director General. Simon Hocquard said: “Mr. Salazar’s great experience in aviation and his visionary insight will be of enormous benefit as the industry begins the slow road to recovery after what has been an extraordinarily challenging year.

“We very much look forward to working closely with Mr Salazar on helping to rebuild the industry and to forge a bright future. CANSO has developed a great working relationship with ICAO over the years and we are sure that will continue in August with Juan Carlos.”
