CANSO and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University celebrate completion of the Executive Leadership Certificate Programme
CANSO and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) proudly announce the successful completion of the inaugural Executive Leadership Certificate Programme, a transformative initiative designed to elevate executive leadership across the airspace community. From the outset, this programme was built with a clear purpose: to shape the next generation of leaders capable of turning academic knowledge into practical, immediate impact.

During the graduation ceremony, CANSO emphasised that this first cohort had done exactly that. “Graduates did not just study leadership – they activated it. They took the tools, the frameworks, and the models, and turned them into results from day one”, commented CANSO Director Latin America and Carribean Affairs, Javier Vanegas. “This spirit of applied learning and shared vision set the tone for a milestone moment in regional aviation leadership”, he added.
CANSO extends its warmest congratulations to all graduates representing:
- DC-ANSP
- Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority
- Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority
- Bahamas Air Navigation Services Authority
“Their dedication, discipline, and commitment reflect the leadership our skies need to guide ANSPs through the next decade of technological, operational, and cultural transformation,” added Javier Vanegas in his congratulatory remarks.
About the Programme
Over several months, participants completed six executive-level modules, including strategic planning, brand management, data analytics, crisis leadership, human-centered leadership and innovation. The programme concluded with hands-on labs, Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) operations, research park visits, and a formal graduation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach campus.
As Rohan Garib, Chair of the Latin America and Caribbean CANSO CEO
Committee commented during the graduation speech: “Leadership is not a title – it is a daily act of courage. It is the decision to inspire, to elevate others, and to build something better than what you inherited.”
This message resonated strongly with the cohort, who demonstrated collaboration, vision, and a shared commitment to strengthening the region’s airspace community.
CANSO would like to express our sincere appreciation to the ERAU faculty, whose expertise, mentorship, and dedication shaped every step of this learning experience.
Their academic excellence and operational insight ensured that participants received world-class instruction grounded in real-world aviation challenges.
Building on the success of the first cohort, CANSO and ERAU are working on the second version of the Executive Leadership Certificate Programme.
Stay tuned for updates on the next edition, which will further enhance executive skills, encourage regional collaboration, and equip ANSPs to meet the changing needs of global aviation.
