ENAIRE managed over 160,000 flights in February, two per cent more than in 2025, a record year

ENAIRE, Spain’s state-owned air navigation manager, handled more than 160,000 flights (161,887) in February 2026, two per cent more than in the same month of 2025, a record year.

International flights totalled 89,039, 3.4 per cent more than in the same month of 2025; overflights – which do not land at or depart from a Spanish airport – totalled 40,168, up 2.5 per cent; and domestic flights totalled 32,680, down 2.2 per cent.

This increase in air traffic in Spain in February 2026 compared with 2025 is 0.5 percentage points lower than the European average increase (which is 2.5 per cent). This small difference in the pace of growth in favour of the European average is due to the fact that, since 2021, air traffic in Spain has grown at a much faster rate than in Europe as a whole.
