ENAIRE reaffirms its leadership in the sustainable development of the aviation sector
ENAIRE, Spainâs state-owned air navigation manager, has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, a document that highlights the most significant progress in environmental, social, technological, and governance matters. The report reflects the organisationâs strong commitment to a more efficient, safe, and sustainable aviation sector, in line with the United Nationsâ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This commitment to sustainability is evident in the results achieved despite increased traffic. In 2024, the efficiency of managed flights reached 96.7 per cent, which meant flying over 3.6 million fewer kilometresâthe equivalent of 91 trips around the Earthâpreventing 68,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions and saving more than 21,700 tonnes of fuel. In addition, 100 per cent of the external energy used by ENAIRE came from renewable sources, and 2.6 GWh of energy was generated through self-production.
