Brought to you by CANSO: Unlocking ATC Training Success Through Smarter Selection
The aviation industry is facing a critical challenge. By 2034, an estimated 71,000 new air traffic controllers will be needed to meet global demand (CAE Aviation Talent Forecast). For ANSPs, recruiting and selecting the best ATC candidates with just the right skills and aptitudes is more important and more complex than ever.
In this webinar, Jonny Cooke and Philipp Zeitel from Airways International unpacked the complex recruitment and selection challenges facing ANSPs, and explore the key factors contributing to low ATC training success rates.
They shared how the team has developed a refined recruitment and selection process that consistently delivers outstanding results – drawing on over 30 years of experience in selecting and training air traffic controllers.
This proven selection approach is helping ANSPs to identify the right candidates with the core competencies predictive of ATC success. With 92 per cent success rates in the Airways Training Academy and 98 per cent in on-the-job training over the past 10 years, Airways’ results demonstrate the power of a data-driven, evidence-based selection model.
