CANSO Members The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), and the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong have partnered with the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) to support the organisation of the Asia Pacific Region Innovation & Capacity Building Symposium 2023 (APICS 2023).

The event takes place on 14-15 December at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, China and is supported by CANSO’s APC3 committee of its regional CEOs, and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Office.

The APAC Region has been undergoing a fast pace of air traffic recovery, and so timely planning and deployment of innovative technology and investment on capability building are of vital importance in further enhancing air navigation and airport operations, while bringing tangible benefits in a sustainable manner.

In line with the ICAO’s initiatives on “Innovation in Aviation” and “Capacity Building,” APICS 2023 will host keynote speeches and panels on innovation and capacity building, with exhibitors showcasing their innovative solutions and capabilities in air navigation and airport operations, with supporting demonstration and talks in the following areas:

  • Innovative technology and digital solutions
  • Satellite-based and ground-based applications
  • Drone detection and management
  • Advanced simulators
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Big data analytics
  • Autonomous technology for airport operations
  • Capacity building and training services
  • and so on.

APICS 2023 is the first Symposium in the APAC Region with the theme of innovation and capacity building to implement the APAC Seamless Air Navigation Service Plan. It is the first CAAC, HKCAD and HKIAA co-hosted Symposium to showcase capabilities of the Mainland, Hong Kong and overseas exhibitors in innovation, technologies and capacity building for civil aviation; and the first Symposium in Hong Kong with exhibitions focusing on innovation in civil aviation.

APICS 2023 will bring together aviation leaders, decision-makers and senior professionals from civil aviation authorities, air navigation service providers, airport operators and leading systems/solutions integrators in the APAC Region and beyond in search for innovative solutions to further enhance air navigation and airport operations for building a seamless sky.

To facilitate sharing of experience, three expert panels will be organised:

Innovation in Sky – Air Navigation Service

Discover the latest advancements and strategies that are shaping the future of air navigation service.  Explore visionary concepts that are revolutionising the air navigation service and conducive to interoperable air traffic management.
