GreenATM Accreditation Award and Signing of Letter of Intent on Strengthening Aviation Meteorology Collaboration

During this short session, a Letter of Intent will be signed aiming to strengthen cooperation in aviation meteorology in the Asia-Pacific region, given the increasing unpredictability of weather due to climate change. Severe weather poses significant challenges to aviation operations, and there is an urgent need for a coordinated response involving both meteorological and aviation communities to enhance aviation safety, resilience, and operational efficiency across the ecosystem. Through this LOI, ANSPs and MET service providers will collaborate on three key areas:

• research and development
• data sharing, and
• capability development
