Session overview
Despite the critical role that SMS plays in ensuring safe and efficient air navigation services, global participation in the annual EUROCONTROL/CANSO SOE in SMS Assessment remains at approximately 50%. This session introduces a practical tool designed to assist ANSPs with a less mature SMS frameworks in developing and implementing some core SMS elements. Our goal is to elevate SMS maturity through increased participation in the SOE in SMS Assessment, driving continuous safety improvements, globally.
Session Objectives:
• Practical SMS Development Support – Introduction of a structured tool designed to assist ANSPs with less mature SMS frameworks in implementing specific SMS elements effectively.
• Elevating SMS Maturity Through Assessment – Increased participation in the SOE in SMS Assessment will drive continuous improvement, strengthen global safety performance, and foster industry-wide alignment.
