Introduction to the Safety Intelligence Analyst Network (SIAN)

Overview:
The theme of SIAN is by analysts for analysts. The goals is to help analysts who may be new to position and link them with similar ANSP professionals. This will include sharing of tools and techniques, building on relationships to help review work and brainstorm on solutions to ideas and to improve the performance across CANSO. The goal is to improve safety while encouraging participation and improving skills.

Session Objectives:
What it is SIAN and what is the value? Why your ANSP should participate and why you should send your analysts to it. Scenarios dicussed will include the following:

• You are now the new safety analyst in ANSP X. You don’t know anything about analysis. What do you do? How do you learn? Where do you go for help? What tools already exist that can help you?
• You are a safety manager in ANSP X, and you need to assign an employee who has no analysis experience with the role of becoming the safety analyst for your ANSP. How do you set this person up for success?
