A positive safety culture places a high level of importance on safety beliefs, values and attitudes that are shared by everyone in an organisation.
Management has the responsibility of instituting a positive safety culture in organisation by ensuring that all staff are responsible for, and consider the impact of, safety on everything they do.
As such, air navigation service providersâ personnel should appreciate a positive safety culture as part of their normal operations. This way of thinking must be so deeply rooted that it becomes the corporate culture.
The objective of this webinar was to create awareness of the importance of building a strong and positive safety culture among CANSO members in Africa and to assist in its implementation by learning from each other.
Our speakers from organisations including IFATSEA, IFATCA, Uganda and Eswatini CAA provided practical, regionally-focussed guidance and shared with attendees the steps they have taken to build on the safety culture in their respective organisations.
This webinar will contribute to the overall improvement of the Safety Management Systems (SMS) in the region.
