CANSO Global Safety Conference 2026

Registration for the CANSO Global Safety Conference 2026 is now open.
Kindly hosted by Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS), our conference will be held at the Jeddah Hilton, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 29 March to 1 April.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Navigating the Future: Advancing Aviation Safety for a New Era‘. Over the course of four days, we will continue to build on the progress made at the CANSO Global Safety Conference 2025, in Christchurch, New Zealand, where we enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts, Airways New Zealand.
Through a similar programme of workshops, interactive sessions, and debate and discussion, we will come together again to further strengthen the crucial work we do through our workgroups, and build inclusive and active safety cultures across all our organisations.
There will also be the usual opportunities to network with colleagues old and new.

About Jeddah
Jeddah is a major coastal city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the principal gateway to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Located on the Red Sea, Jeddah is known as the country’s commercial hub and an important centre for trade, culture, and international business.
With a population of over four million people, the city combines modern infrastructure with a rich cultural heritage. The historic district of Al-Balad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reflects Jeddah’s long history as a port city and meeting point for cultures from across the region.
Taxis and Public Transport
Taxis are widely available from King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) to the city centre and major hotels. Official airport taxis operate on a metered basis, and fares vary depending on traffic and destination. It is recommended to confirm that the meter is used before starting the journey.
Ride-hailing services such as Uber and Careem are also widely used in Jeddah and are generally reliable and convenient. Prices are displayed in-app, and payment is typically cashless.
Jeddah currently has limited public transport options compared to some other major cities; taxis and ride-hailing services are the most practical means of getting around.
Visa Information
Participants are strongly advised to begin their visa application process as early as possible to avoid delays.
Visa requirements for entry into Saudi Arabia vary depending on nationality. Many nationalities are eligible for an electronic visa (eVisa) or visa on arrival, while others must apply in advance through a Saudi embassy or consulate.
For full and up-to-date details on Saudi Arabia’s visa requirements, participants should consult the official Saudi government visa portal.
Participants may be asked to provide:
