CANSO Academy: Future Skies: Operationalising Space Transportation in Shared Airspace

The Future Skies: Operationalising Space Transportation in Shared Airspace webinar, hosted by the CANSO Operations Programme’s Space Operations Workgroup, explored the operational integration of space transportation into shared airspace, focusing on real world challenges and emerging solutions. The webinar also addressed airspace deconfliction, safety considerations, and the evolution of future air traffic management (ATM) concepts as space activities continue to expand.

Bringing together stakeholders from across the aviation and space ecosystems, the session provided practical insight into how space operations are being managed today, highlighted proven techniques and best practices, and examined what is needed to safely and efficiently scale integration moving forward.

The webinar also lay the groundwork for future growth, encouraged collaboration and a shared understanding of how to integrate space operations seamlessly into existing airspace systems.
