CANSO Academy: Building an AI Factory Approach to Innovate at Scale
CANSOworked with NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) to bring you this exciting new webinar which examined the unique challenges of implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for aviation.
As AI/ML applications mature, the aviation industry needs to shift from bespoke research and development efforts to an industry-wide âAI factoryâ approach to reap the maximum benefits and economies of scale such an approach would bring.
This session brought together experts from NASA, ANRA Technologies, Cirium, DFS and Joby Aviation to outline and discuss what we can learn from digital natives and disruptors, and how to start using âAI factory techniques to drive results while increasing innovation.
The panel discussed a framework for managing the functional criticality and computational complexity of implementing specific functions for unmanned traffic management for various airspace operations. The speakers will also touch on architectural and design aspects important to the safe use of AI/ML to bound expected behaviour and to assist in classifying risk.
