Meet our speaker

Phil Manougian serves as the Lead for Range Operations and Meteorology at SpaceX, where he has worked since 2022, managing a team of meteorologists and range controllers in Cape Canaveral, FL, Vandenberg, CA, and Starbase, TX. His team is responsible for ensuring safe airspace and marine ranges for Falcon and Starship launches, as well as launch weather evaluations and forecast tool development across the company. Additionally, Phil serves as the co-chair of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Space Operations Weather Resources and Collaborative Information Sharing Sub-Team

Phil is a graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology College of Aerospace, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Meteorology with Flight. He is an FAA Flight Instructor and Commercial pilot, PADI Divemaster, and was a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Corps Officer of the Deck (OOD) operating unlimited tonnage fisheries research vessels.
