Heather K. Harris-Aguirre is an expert in airspace integration, aviation safety management systems (SMS), and systems engineering. With over 30 years of experience, she has led key industry projects in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) safety, airspace integration, and next gen technology demonstrations. As a senior policy advisor in airspace integration and SMS implementation strategist at Northrop Grumman, she supports the company in DoD, EASA, and FAA in safety program development and hazard analysis. A dual-rated pilot with a Master’s in Aeronautical Science, Heather also contributes to industry standards and safety policy efforts through committees and subject matter expert groups at ICAO, SAE, and NASA, as well as CANSO.
