Meet our speaker

Colonel Aviator Fabio Barbosa graduated from the Brazilian Air Force Academy in 2001 and holds a Master’s degree in Air Traffic Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA). He has logged over 2,000 flight hours as an instructor pilot in search and rescue operations and rotary-wing aircraft, and in 2017 commanded the Detachment of Airspace Control at Galeao Airport, overseeing operations across the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area.

He later served as DECEA Liaison Officer to EUROCONTROL in Brussels (2020–2022) and as a member of DECEA’s Operations Planning Division (2022–2023). Since January 2024, he has been Commander of the Southeast Regional Center of Airspace Control (CRCEA-SE) in Sao Paulo, leading one of South America’s busiest airspaces.
