Francis Kigen is a highly experienced aviation professional serving as a Principal UAS Inspector at the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA). He began his career as an Aeronautical Information Officer before transitioning to Air Traffic Control, where he attained senior-level experience and three operational ratings in Aerodrome Control, Approach Procedural Control, and Approach Radar Control. He is also a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) holder for fixed-wing aircraft. Francis currently oversees UAS regulation, safety, compliance, training, and industry engagement in Kenya. As a certified UAS Instructor and Examiner, he contributes to professional standards, capacity building, and the safe integration of emerging aviation technologies into modern airspace systems.
