French airspace reaches its highest-ever traffic record in June 2026

19/06/2026

In early June 2026, French airspace reached an unprecedented level of activity, setting a new all-time record of 11,973 controlled flights on 5 June.

More broadly, year-to-date traffic in French airspace is up 2 per cent compared with 2025, while ATFM delays across France have decreased by 33% over the same period.

This achievement reflects the commitment and professionalism of DSNA’s air traffic controllers and operational staff, who managed these exceptionally high traffic levels while maintaining safety and supporting efficient traffic flows across the network.

The record is even more notable given the staffing challenges currently faced by DSNA. At the same time, it signals the arrival of unprecedented traffic peaks expected in the coming weeks, which will place further demands on the French air traffic management system and require the continued mobilization of operational teams.
