Meet our speaker

Duarte Silva is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Civil Aviation Authority since July 2021, and has since then been responsible, among other areas, for infrastructure and air navigation. He is an alternate member of the EASA Management Board and of the Eurocontrol Provisional Council.

A civil engineer by initial training, with additional education in finance, he specializes in transport and concessions and has devoted his entire career to these fields. He has been a university lecturer at Instituto Superior Técnico, carried out extensive work in concessions and Public Private Partnerships in the road, rail and airport sectors, coordinated major transport infrastructure projects, served as a technical adviser at the Ministry of Infrastructure on transport matters, and led the negotiation process for the new Lisbon airport.
