Overview:
This session will review the three definition types of AI: Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Robotics as defined by MIT. It will also consider what AI is NOT and why it won’t be controlling traffic for a very long time. The session will look at decision support tools and NOT decision-making tools. A deeper dive into AI and how to deal with more data than we can manage – how do we develop and incorporate improved analytic processes and techniques into our safety processes. What are some good AI applications to consier that could be good for aviation safety?

Session Objectives:
• Help ANSPs understand the value of using AI in safety analysis
• Define AI and discuss current use cases
• Address concerns and security/safety issues
• Provide contact information if ANSP’s want to embark on AI use cases
