Meet our speaker

Mr. S.T. Chan is the Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO), where he currently leads the Aviation Weather Services Branch. With the HKO since 1992, his extensive career encompasses operational weather forecasting, severe weather nowcasting, and application of numerical weather prediction. He has also played a key role in the operation and enhancement of the wind shear and turbulence alerting service for the Hong Kong International Airport. Mr. Chan has contributed to international aviation meteorology as a consultant to the International Civil Aviation Organization and has served in various roles for the World Meteorological Organization.
