Session overview

This session will highlight ongoing efforts and best practices in how meteorological agencies (MET) collaborate with Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and with each other to enhance aviation operations. The speakers in this session will share:

  • How MET-ATM integration can strengthen operational decision-making and support safer and more efficient ATM;
  • Practical approaches and case studies to embedding meteorological information into ATM operations to enhance situational awareness and air traffic flow management;
  • Best practices and collaborative initiatives that foster closer MET-ATM and MET-MET coordination;
  • How ICAO and WMO frameworks promote harmonised meteorological information—such as SIGMET exchanges across FIR boundaries—and advance international MET-MET collaboration for better ATM outcomes.
