CANSO Europe welcomes new Director of European Affairs

01/09/2025

Brussels, 1 September 2025 – CANSO Europe is delighted to announce that Enrico Parini has joined as its new Director of European Affairs, based in the Brussels office.

Enrico brings over a decade of international experience in Air Traffic Management (ATM) and a strong track record of navigating complex European policy environments.

Enrico takes up his role today, leading CANSO Europe’s work with Members, EU institutions, and industry stakeholders to shape the future of ATM in the region.
Most recently, he served as Project Officer at the European Defence Agency (EDA) in Brussels, where he played a key role in shaping EU aviation policy and regulatory initiatives to integrate military needs. His work focused on ensuring interoperability between EU initiatives and defence requirements, while engaging with EU decision-making bodies on space and aviation matters.

Before the EDA, Enrico led ENAV’s Brussels office, representing the Italian air navigation service provider in EU aviation policy discussions and high-level forums with EU institutions and aerospace stakeholders. During his time at ENAV, he also served as Vice-Chair of CANSO Europe’s Strategic and Political group.

As CANSO’s President and CEO, Simon Hocquard, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Enrico to our team. I am confident that his ability to operate at the highest levels of the EU Institutions, combined with his deep understanding of European aviation and defence, makes him an invaluable addition to CANSO. His leadership will help our Members navigate the challenges ahead and drive progress towards a more efficient, sustainable, and integrated European airspace.”

Enrico Parini said: “I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead CANSO’s activities in Europe. Our region faces a pivotal moment: Air Navigation Service Providers and the wider Air Traffic Management community have been called to deliver safer, greener, digital, and more resilient services. As CANSO Europe we will work with all our Members to face these demands. I look forward to contributing to ATM’s key role in the European strategic autonomy and to further shaping the future of the European aviation sector.”

CANSO Europe represents 35 member Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) across the region, advocating for performance-based regulation, supporting the modernisation and standardisation of ATM, and shaping European legislation to ensure a sustainable, competitive, and innovative air transport system.

The Brussels-based team leads CANSO’s engagement with EU institutions, EUROCONTROL, EASA, SESAR, ICAO, and other regional bodies, with much of its work focused on shaping the Single European Sky initiative.

Europe’s skies are facing a period of extraordinary change; from the rapid growth in new airspace users, to delivering on the industry’s net zero ambitions, to addressing the urgent need for infrastructure investment.
