Mercy Makau is an aviation professional and social entrepreneur passionate about unlocking opportunities for youth in aviation and aerospace across Africa.

As the Founder and President of the Young Aviators Club of Africa, she leads a nonprofit organization that has empowered over 60,000 young people by providing access to industry information, practical training, global exposure, and innovation platforms.

Her work focuses on building human capital—attracting, developing, and retaining young talent—while championing gender equity, STEM education, and the advancement of affordable, inclusive air mobility across the continent. She’s also committed to leveraging aviation, including drone technology, to address sustainability and mental health challenges in our communities.

With over 15 years of industry experience, herbackground spans crewed and uncrewed aircraft operations, aviation strategy, and quality and safety systems auditing.

Mercy believe Africa’s skies must be shaped by its youth—and is committed to ensuring they’re ready to lead.
