Commercial Manager- GAL Air Navigation Services

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to work within our Commercial division, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. This is a critical role, which shall provide commercial expertise and direction, in support of the delivery of GAL ANS Strategy and Business Development objectives using innovative technological developments to improve services provided to our customers. The position shall support sales and marketing campaigns, which will involve running the bid process to deliver compelling customer propositions and successful contractual negotiations. The role shall also be responsible for managing customer relationships whilst ensuring that key contract performance metrics are delivered.

Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support the development of commercial proposals, including Contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, whilst ensuring that commercial including safety risks are mitigated
  • Act in the capacity of the commercial lead in multi-disciplinary bid teams to develop cogent and effective solutions 
  • Lead  development of commercial processes including bid management to help establish best practice processes across GAL ANS ensuring appropriate rollout and buy-in from the wider business
  • Support the development and implementation of the company business strategy
  • Provide contract management support for contracts ensuring that GAL ANS delivers all contractual obligations and key performance indicators
  • Improve the general level of commercial understanding and competence within GAL ANS by providing training and coaching as appropriate
  • Manage and oversee matrix and multi-disciplinary teams across GAL ANS, whose duties span a variety of departments within the organisation
  • Ensure that GAL ANS meets its business development objectives and be flexible to support other functions to meet GAL ANS business objectives
  • Maintain a robust network of industry contacts whilst keeping abreast of innovative technological advancements and providing guidance on how GAL ANS can exploit advancement to maintain a competitive advantage

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelors in Aviation Engineering or Business Management
  • Master’s in Business Administration (preferred)

Professional Certifications:

  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant software
  • Project /Programme Management
  • Finance Management
  • Risk Management

Must Have:

  • Minimum to 5 years commercial management experience (3 of which should have been in a similar role in the Aviation industry)
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in private or international organization related to aviation or air navigation service industry
  • Extensive sales, marketing and consultancy experience in the ANS or wider Aviation industry
  • Languages – Fluent in Arabic would be an added advantage.
